If there is a spark then something is wired direct to power and not through the ignition switch. There should not be a spark if things is wired correctly. Check to see if your power wire on the audio system is connected through a fuse which is on the ignition switch. The easiest way to test this is with a test light and check for fuses that are hot only when the ignition is on. This is what you want, other wise you will be connected directly to battery source and it could drain your battery.

If you didn’t disconnect the negative battery cable(like you should) when doing the installation you will get a spark when it is connected. Also you either had the ignition on or you direct wired it.

It’s very common to get a small spark when you make the connection to the battery after installing an amplifier. Don’t worry about it.
