I have a camper with a 12v fridge running of the two terminals off one battery on a 24volt system. An Isolator switch turns of the fridge when engine is not running. Can I connect my leisure battery up to the same circuit to charge while driving??
Its not uncommon for campers to have 2 batteries as they need more power to suply fridge, lighting etc…It cant be a 24v system if the fridge is directly connected to the battery as it would blow the fridge..its just 2x 12v batteries connected inline…So the answer to your question is yes you can…

Don't unbalance your batteries (I assume 2 x 12 v batts), have a separate one for the 12 system charged by a 24 to 12 v battery charger. This will ensure the 12 batt is fully charged (given time) which the vehicle alternator will not. 24- 12 chargers are sold by many companies do a web search. I have used Adverc Osca-P in the past. Find them on the web - UK Based.
