basically I've been appointed damage control and handyman for a restaurant…. it needs a lot of help.

my main concern right now is to install a network system with input terminals, ticket printers, credit card readers, cabling, and a nice database……

I'm capable of running the network configuration but I'm wonder what kind of software options do we have (besides micros and aloha) and what kind of hardware options (or suppliers) there are….
its a very simple Chinese restaurant.
one of the lowest volume restaurants I've been in. right now they hand write their tickets and do the books manually.

no liquor. no bartender
3 line cooks apps/fry, grill and sautée

1 credit card machine and line,
also with 2 phone lines.

only needs are a router, 1 comp for books and 2 for terminals (maybe 1 server comp?) and about 4 line printers
colinc ——– "approved setup the credit card companies particularly will refuse to deal"

perhaps if you have more info please email me

Do not under any circumstances shackle yourself with Micros, the least function able, piece of garbage on the market. We have it where I am and it just sucks. There is also squirrel, dinerware and another who's name escapes me that was the best I ever worked with. I will let you know the name of the other system tomorrow.

Also what type of restaurant is it, what type of system you will need will depend on what level of restaurant it is.

I've been a server at many restaurants, and I always liked the Aloha system- very easy to use.

These are specialist pieces of equipment, you need to contact cash till terminal suppliers, credit card providers, and I don't know what kind of ticket you wish to print. These will each give their individual requirements, if you do not use approved setup the credit card companies particularly will refuse to deal with you for their own security sake. This is going to cost a LOT of money.
