I need 20 bucks. The stupid ATM says it can't process my transaction. Why the HECK won't it do what I want?? I just got the card…2 days ago
1) you may not have enough in your account
2) if you just deposited a check recently, the funds might not be available yet
3) usually debit cards have a daily limit of how much you can take out (usually around $300)
4) you didn't activate your debit card
5) if it's new, sometimes the bank requires you to use it at their ATM first to activate the card (that's how my bank is)
6) if all else fails, just call customer service and find out why!

If it is only the one ATM, the keypad may have a problem. Also check to see if that ATM accepts the ATM network listed on the card.
If this happens at all ATM's, go back to the bank and let them know. There may be a problem with the magnetic stripe on the back of the card.
Keep all credit cards. ATM cards, etc away from magnetic ietms. It can alter the track on the back of the card and make it unreadable.

1> Did you activate the card by calling the 800 number that was affixed to it?
2> Did you try another ATM- the one you tried may be down
3> Do you have enough money in your account?
4> Did the bank link your card to the right account?
If all else fails call the number on the back of the ATM or go in person to the bank and see what's up.

Make sure you have activated the card. Make sure you have funds in your account and make sure you are selecting the correct account to remove the funds from ( ex. Savings or Checking ). Some cards can be activated by doing a balance inquary.

1) you have $20 or less in the bank, the machine will calcluate service charges, and if you only have $20 in there, and the service fee is $1.75 then you don't have enough
2) Your card was set up incorrectly, have you used it before today? If not, take it back to the person that set it up and have them issue you a new card
3) Your card was cancelled due to a possible fraud attempt on your account. This can happen if someone gets a copy of your card and figures out your PIN number…
4) The ATM is down…it's all based on networks, but the machines don't always get the information to tell them that they are not communicating, so it'll just assume that you don't have the funds.
